I’m a bit late with this source, but in my defence i’ve been trying to test it over the past few days, with inconclusive results.
Of pressing interest to any investigative journalist would be the extent to which this service is reliable for covering white collar crimes – as opposed to traffic violations, and possession of drugs charges which seem to predominate.
The jury is out as far as I can see – not knowing many US-born nationals, I tried looking for fraudsters who have been reported in the New York Times over the past few months, but found very few.
But I still suspect this may have some application beyond snooping employers…
