The spy who poked me

While over here Scotland Yard are using Facebook and other social networks to keep tabs on baddies and cads, over in Mother Russia these sites are being used by a broad sweep of nosey parkers, including government agencies, anti-Kremlin groups, banks, and even HR headhunters, according to the Moscow Times.

 

In light of this mass-snoop, one cheeky wag has created a site asking people to volunteer their private information to the Federal Security Service.

 

And to make matters even worse, John C. Dvorak says in PC Magazine today that social networks either aren’t real, are likely to ‘implode’, or will fizzle out into irrelevance before long.

 

It’s enough to make you wonder why folk bother…
